Spring in Boulder

There is nothing quite like Boulder in the spring. April is the third snowiest month of the year but in between snow days, there are days that are sunny and 65. We took advantage of a day like this and went kite flying at the park. Maggie got to eat grass for the first time, we played on the park toys and watched the paragliders take off from the foothills and then land next to us. Good Times.

Doctors Suck...

Or at least their inexperienced lab technicians. Maggie had her 6 month check-up. She was due for 3 shots. Mom was tempted to delay them because she (mom) had a cold but Maggie was fine. Rather than put Maggie through the torture of having to come back for more shots she decided to get them over with today. You could tell the lab tech was a newbie - she lacked confidence. The first two shots went in fine. Maggie screamed so loud people on other floors could hear her. Then, on the third shot the needle broke off in her leg! The vaccine spilled everywhere. Then, the tech said they were all out of vaccine in the office so she would have to go the pharmacy 4 floors down to get more. Mom already agonizes over vaccines in the first place and then to have this happen...it ain't easy being a parent. Hopefully Maggie won't have this as a repressed memory. At least once Maggie got home she was able to smile again:
